Sawgrass Country Club has been synonymous with great golf ever since it played host to The Players Championship in 1977. The premier PGA Tour event was played on our East-West Course through 1981, when it moved to its nearby current site nearby at the Tournament Players Club (TPC) at Sawgrass

The golf course, now with 27 holes, was designed by noted Arnold Palmer Course Design architect, Ed Seay. Through the years, Sawgrass has been consistently recognized as one of the finest courses in the country and has been included in Golf Magazine’s Top 100 Courses in the U.S., Golf Digest’s Best Courses in Florida, and Golf Week Magazine’s Top 100 Courses in America. Members may utilize their own golf carts, the Club’s carts, or walk the courses with club-furnished trolleys.
Sawgrass Country Club continues the tradition of championship golf by hosting an annual NCAA Men’s Division 1 Invitational, FSGA and USGA state and national events, and other select tournaments throughout the year.
Carefully nurtured Tifeagle greens reward the skillful putter who has successfully negotiated over or around the picturesque lakes and bunkers that beautify the course.
The three nines provide the variety of three different rotations and include five tee boxes to accommodate players of all abilities. A spacious driving range, putting green, practice bunker and chipping green round out a total golfer’s needs for game improvement. Our resident pros offer individual and group lessons and special technique clinics year ‘round.

GOLF RELATED ACTIVITIES are abundant seven days a week, 52 weeks a year, including many welcoming formal and ad hoc groups of men and women at every handicap level. The choices are almost endless, including interclub and intraclub tournaments of all types involving medal play, team play including scrambles, shambles, our legendary annual Member/Guest and a yearly “Greenskeeper’s Revenge” that’s a hoot.
