Sawgrass Country Club features 27 holes of championship golf, designed
by noted course architect, Ed Seay of Palmer Course Design. Consistently
ranked in the top 100 courses to play and among the "Best in
State" by Golf Digest, subscribers also rated Sawgrass in the
top 10 courses in terms of service.
The
Sawgrass Oceanside Course (East-West) gained its reputation as the
home of of
The PGA TOUR from 1977 to 1981 when the course, along with the treacherous
March winds, tested the greatest players in the game (see History).
The par-72 East-West course has an array of spectacular golf holes,
most notably the daunting par 5, East No. 4 with a tantalizing peek
at the ocean as you make your way from the green to the next tee.
And the par 3, West No. 6 (our signature hole) presents a panoramic
view of one of the larger lakes on the course, a portion of which
must be negotiated on the tee shot. In 1984, the third masterpiece
nine, known as the "South course," designed again by Ed
Seay, was added. If the tightness presented by nature's pines and
palms do not provide enough challenge, the Bermuda rough, strategically
placed water hazards and consistently guarded greens will.
The 27 holesthree different rotationsalong with five
different tee boxes (Gold, Blue, White, Green, and Red) provide
a fair and varied test of golf for the full spectrum and diversity
of our Member's abilities and ambitions.
To compliment its array of links, Sawgrass Country Club also features
a spacious driving range facility complete with two separate putting
greens, practice bunker, and chipping greens to provide ideal opportunities
to work on your game.
