2015 Bass Tournament

This fishing tournament will have two flights. The first flight is open to all adult members (17 AND OLDER). The second flight is a junior angler that will be open to all juniors from (7 to 16 years old) with adult member supervision. All anglers must have a valid Florida Freshwater Fishing License.(Must show license at Check-In - Please remember to bring it or you will not be able to fish.) Exemptions are 65 and older and 16 and younger!

What Are We Fishing For Of course we are fishing for fun! We are also fishing for Large Mouth Bass. Sawgrass Country Club is well known for it’s healthy population of Large Mouth. We will catch using artificial baits only & release them live as well. Bank fishing, only with 1 pole at a time. No boats, kayaks or paddle boats. Only Sawgrass Country Club ponds are eligible to fish. So no fishing in the Guana Canal (#4 and #5 East on the golf course)

What Does My Registration Fee Get Me The Grand Prize is really Grand: the grand prize winner from both flights will receive a trophy as well as a Gift Card to Dick’s Sporting Goods and bragging rights for a year!

How Much, How Many & Deadlines $20 Registration begins now through March 20th. This includes all registrations received before 5pm on 20th. All on site registration fees will be $25.00 the day of the event. No refunds will be given.

Ways to Register for the Tournament: You can pick up and turn in your registrations at the Golf Club (front desk) or you may send them to us, via e-mail, to [email protected].

Tournament Schedule: Saturday - March 21st, 2015 at 6:30am - Check in/Late registration, show your Fishing License (proof of age) and pick up a weight card…

6:55am - Introduction, rules, welcome remarks and tournament “shotgun” start located at the score board(rear of club). Anyone not attending the meeting or leaving the starting area before the "start" will be disqualified.

7 am- Registration completes, Horn sounds to start the day, Fish until 11 am. All scores tallied and awards presented at the score board beginning at 12:00 noon.

Coffee and Danish will be available for all participants at start of tournament and lunch will be available, upon the completion of the tournament, on the lawn across from the score board.

Fishing Tournament Format & Rules: When the horn sounds for all to start fishing, we start fishing. When a large-mouth bass has been landed, participant must bring the live fish to the nearest weigh-in station.

All halfway houses on the golf course will be weigh-in stations, including the “Inn Between”. The weigh-in judge will weigh the bass, record the time the first bass is weighed and the weight of the fish. The weight will be recorded in pounds and ounces.

Each angler will have the ability to weigh in up to five fish for the day. All fish must be live at weigh-in.

In the event of a tie the largest fish caught will be the tie-breaker. Must have Valid Florida Freshwater Fishing License at Check-In, or no fishing. One Fishing Pole per person at a time and all fishing in Sawgrass Country Club is from the bank only. No nets or stringers permitted. No fishing permitted from private residences property. If using golf carts please be respectful of golf play and homeowners.

Fishing Flights:
Participants will be placed in one of two flights for competition:
Adult Flight - Males / Females 17 – 64 years (65 + no license required)
Young Adult Flight - Males / Females 7 to 16 years (no license required)

What To Bring:
Besides your fishing tackle and chair, bring drinks, snacks, bug spray, sunscreen, camera and luck!!!
